Mr. Hearn’s practice focuses largely on the representation of health care providers, provider groups, behavioral health systems, and other entities involved in the healthcare industry. Mr. Hearn assists both participating and non-participating providers across the nation that are involved in claims payment disputes or seeking improved reimbursements relative to their billed charge amounts. Mr. Hearn uses his thorough understanding of revenue cycle management, contract strategy and negotiations with insurers/managed care organizations or networks, pre-suit management of payment and reimbursement issues, alternative pricing and reimbursement mechanisms, pricing strategies, and billing and documentation disputes, as well as regulatory matters, to develop legal theories for recovery in complex commercial reimbursement cases. Mr. Hearn litigates on behalf of his clients in both state and federal court against such commercial healthcare payors as Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare.
Mr. Hearn also maintains a robust general commercial and insurance litigation practice, prosecuting and defending his clients in subrogation and insurance coverage disputes from initial claim through trial and any potential bad faith proceedings.
Mr. Hearn is admitted to practice in all of Florida’s state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. His practice is based primarily in the firm’s Coral Gables offices.
