1. Do I have to put $250,000 in a bank account ?
No, you are not required by law to put any money in a bank account when you Go Bare in the State of Florida. As a matter of fact, we recommend that you don't. 2. Will Insurance plans cancel my contract ?
No, you have the right to Go Bare in Florida. You will not lose your privileges with the insurance companies. Simply provide the Florida Financial Responsibility Form as proof of compliance to any insurance company or facility who asks for proof of insurance.
3. Will Florida hospitals allow me to remain on staff ?
Most hospitals will allow you to Go Bare. We will review the hospitals by-laws should the need arise and assist you throughout the process.
4. Will Going Bare harm my professional reputation?
Absolutely not. There are over 7,000 doctors in Florida that do not carry malpractice insurance. Doctors all over the country are following their lead. Many doctors used to be embarrassed that they dropped their insurance. Now, they are proud of this decision.
5. Will I lose patients if I Go Bare?
Probably not. Patients respect doctors that make smart financial decisions and there are very few patients that will not use a doctor just because they are Bare. And frankly, if a patient does decide not to use you as a result of your decision …good! That’s the patient you didn’t want.
